I have had experience flying with various budget airlines, such as Jetstar, Scoot, Tiger (now Scoot and Tiger merged together). These are the popular airways in southeast Asia. In this post I will share my experience with these airlines and compare Jetstar with the rest.
Scoot's Economy allows 1 piece of carry-on luggage up to 7kg and 3kg more if you are carry a laptop with you. For ScootBiz class, customers are allowed to take 2 pieces of carry-on luggage less than 15kg in total.
Jetstar charges 15 SGD credit card booking fee for returning tickets.
Scoot charges 18 to 20 SGD per transaction.
Tiger charges 18 SGD.
Jetstar: Every Friday.
Scoot: Every Tuesday.
Tiger: Every Thursday.
Price Review
Do not be fooled by the initial price that you searched from these airlines' official websites - the actual price will add on as you compete the booking process. In July this year (2017), I was booking tickets from Singapore to Bangkok and surprisingly I saw 30 SGD ticket and that was enticing. Me and my friends immediately chose to go with Jetstar and guess what, in the end we paid more than 100 SGD. So it was hard to tell which airline you should go for without knowing the fees that are excluded from the "ticket price". In the following content and I will discuss all sorts of fees that Jetstar may charge you as well as provide comparison reviews on Jetstar and Scoot.Baggage Review
